Where a workplace first aid risk assessment identifies a need for an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, this three-day qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. The learner will attain knowledge and the practical competence required to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations. • Meets employer’s legal obligations • Compliant with Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting • Control of bleeding • Poisoning • Asthma • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Shock (including Anaphylaxis) • Bandaging • Diabetes • Fractures and spinal injuries • Heart attacks • Choking • Stroke • Resuscitation and AED awareness • Head injuries • Eye injuries • Burns • Assessment of the situation • Sprains and strains • Chest injuries • Epilepsy For requalification a shorter 2-day First Aid at Work course is available for those who currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification and are due to expire. This should be taken before the expiry of your current qualification.

All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. Syllabus A range of subjects are covered including: • Responsibilities and reporting • Assessment of the situation • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Basic hygiene in First Aid Certification • Resuscitation and AED awareness • Anatomy • Minor injuries • Bleeding control • Burns • Choking • Epilepsy • Shock

This 3 hour course is designed to refresh your first aid knowledge annually during your qualification period. A range of subjects are covered including: • Responsibilities • Communication skills • Primary Assessment • Top-to-toe survey • Recovery Position • Action for vomit • Resuscitation • Chain of Survival • Wounds and bleeding • Bandaging • Hygiene A certificate of attendance will be issued on completion.

Minimum age 16

This course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.

This one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant Basic Life Support, including parents, guardians and family members.

This course provides essential guidance on controlling life threatening bleeding, including the safe and effective use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings. It highlights the inherent risks involved and equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in critical situations

This 3-hour course will equip learners with the necessary skills, knowledge and expertise on how to manage a casualty’s airway in the event of an emergency. The course is suitable for first aiders, prehospital care providers and those working in high risk environments.

This course is suitable for qualified First Aiders, Emergency First Aiders, dental practitioners and dental care professionals, nurses, healthcare professionals and others working in an environment where oxygen is available for casualty welfare

This qualification has been designed to provide the knowledge and competence for a learner to deal with emergency first aid situations in a forestry/agricultural environment. This qualification is designed to supplement a First Aider’s existing First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and covers the recommended topics stated in the Forestry Commission First Aid policy 2015.

Our Family First Aid course is a practical training session designed to empower parents, grandparents, and care-givers with the skills to handle medical emergencies at home. Unlike workplace certifications, this courses is relaxed, informal, and specifically tailored to the safety of infants, children, and adults in a domestic setting.

Minimum age 16

The qualification is primarily for learners who have a responsibility at work or are involved in voluntary and community activities having access to an automated external defibrillator (AED) but teaches valuable skills that will benefit everyone. A learner will gain the knowledge and practical competence required to be able to recognise and treat someone who has suffered cardiac arrest and to respond quickly, calmly, and confidently. Automated external defibrillators are widely available in public areas and workplaces and the survival rate for casualties suffering cardiac arrest dramatically increases if an AED is available and there are qualified personnel to use it.
